My very first parody, “Donut Like You”, is live! The original, “Someone Like You” by Adele, is a great song — I suppose this is my tribute to it (even though it doesn’t seem like it). Visually, I tried to capture the mood of both of the song’s videos on YouTube; one was a one-take black & white version filmed outdoors, and the other was at a more intimate setting at Adele’s home where it showcased some of her belongings. When you watch the video, you’ll notice that I go back and forth between the 2 versions. It was a lot of fun to film and edit, but writing lyrics for a parody is no easy task!

Doughnut, why are you so good…
You can’t be replaced no, by no cherry pie…

I had to turn down the maple bar, and coffee cake
But I, had seven cookies, I felt so guilty
I had hoped you’d see my plate and that you’d be reminded
I don’t want apple turnovers.

Never mind, I’ll find a doughnut like you
Dunkin donuts, Krispy Kreme, Voodoo
Cream filled donuts, chocolate,
Cinnamon and fruit filled,
So many kinds of treats, but I just want you instead

Most want tasty cherry pies
and some, pastries, with some coffee and cream
Don’t want any glaze
on my breakfast plate
Just want my doughnut simply served up plain
