Aivivia May Chao

After waiting 40 long weeks, she is finally here with us. Introducing the newest member to the ever-growing Chao clan, my daughter, Aivivia May Chao. It’s been almost 5 years since the birth of my son and I have forgotten how much sleep you lose with newborns. Sleep deprivation is ALL worth it though!
In the picture above, Aivivia was taking a nap right next to her mom at the hospital.
Below: Thank you everyone who came to Aivivia’s baby shower! I created an ambigram of Aivivia’s palindrome name and surrounded it with signatures of the guests who celebrated with us.

iPhone Issues
My cell phone finally broke so I had to replace it with another. Enter the Apple iPhone! I couldn’t stop playing with all its features and apps when I first got it. Best of all, I’m wired ALL the time! This is, by far, the best phone or handheld device I’ve ever had!
So why is the title of this post “iPhone Issues”?
While Apple basically thought of everything for the iPhone, I’m wondering if they overlooked its sensitivity to heat and/or moisture. As an MP3 player for use at the gym, the iPhone is pretty big and bulky so the only place for it is on my arm in an armband. This is where the issue starts. Normally, when it’s not on my arm while I’m working out, it would play music just fine. But while I’m running or at the gym, my iPhone would stop playing music about 15 to 20 minutes into my workout. It would randomly stop and start, stop and start, stop and start–and there’s nothing I can do about it. I love my iPhone, but I’ve resorted to using my iPod shuffle for working out.
The earbud click controller has also stopped working and I’m assuming it’s because I’ve used it to workout and sweat has somehow gotten into it.
Am I the only one experiencing this issue, or is it common?

John & Helen’s Wedding

The Legin restaurant off of Division and 82nd in SE Portland was packed last Saturday, March 28th. with guests who helped celebrate the union of John and Helen. Mien weddings have evolved and come a long way in terms of ceremonial practices. Where traditional Mien weddings used to be a 3 to 4 day event (including preparations), a half day of festivities with a mix of abbreviated traditional customs and some adopted western culture is enough to complete a Mien wedding nowadays.
It was a pretty busy day for me but I still had fun seeing everyone enjoy themselves, especially the bride and groom. Congratulations to John & Helen!
Here are some pictures that I took at the wedding.
