Holiday Cards

Whew! The madness in getting these holiday cards done and out on time is finally over! It was a frantic scramble all week as I was designing, modeling, animating, and testing all at once! And for 3 separate cards! Below are brief descriptions for each card.

Transcore: 3.5MB
A truck rolls through a little town, back to its headquarters at Transcore. The animated clouds, snowflakes, traveling truck, and the rock holiday theme make this card a fun one to watch.

CHAOTIME: 5.6MB
Bored during the holidays, my little character switches the music to something a little more upbeat and dances. Pretty entertaining, even if I do say so myself. Check it out!

OakTree Digital: 2.3MB
OTD opted for a simpler holiday card this year, plugging Willamette Week’s non-profit donation website – Give!Guide. Even though the card is simple and straight-forward, its message encourages giving during this time of year.

Let me know which one your favorite is!

Downtown Camas Interactive Map

My employer, OakTree Digital, just launched a freshly redesigned Downtown Camas web site, featuring an interactive map of the area. With a limited budget, I took an existing map and added interactive areas such as store details that “pop up” when you mouseover any store on the map. Details include a brief description of the store, its web site address, and a picture of the store exterior.

Another cool map feature (on a limited budget) is the ability to sort the stores by type.

Check out the map here.

Community Association Partners

The Community Association Partners’ (CA Partners) web site is a project from a little while ago that I haven’t highlighted yet so I thought I’d talk about a few things I did for them. This company, CA Partners, is a homeowner’s association management company that needed a fresh new face and asked for my assistance in design and development. They required a simple site that is user/eco-friendly and portrays their long-term sustainability. The idea of “transparency” or “no hidden agenda” was also important. Using Google Analytics, I also provided some assistance in SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to help boost their rankings.

Award-winning eLearning Course!!!

Here it is! As mentioned in a previous post, this highly-customized eLearning course just won an award from Brandon Hall Research for “Best Custom Content”! The Oregon Restaurant Education Foundation (OREF) and OakTree Digital (my employer) teamed up to take OREF’s Alcohol Server’s education course to the next level by converting their existing course into an exciting and engaging online learning experience in Flash.

The course itself has a seat time of approximately 2 hours, but you can have a sneak preview through this little sample I made (below). Just click on the piece below to start the demo and enjoy!

Flash for Collaborative Software Initiative

CHAOTIME just recently completed a new Flash banner for Collaborative Software Initiative. The difference in this Flash banner versus other Flash banners is that it’s completely XML driven and without any actual tweening. In other words, all the imagery is controlled outside of the Flash environment, which makes it easy to update for those who don’t know how to use Flash or don’t have Flash installed. While the animation is simple, updating it will be a breeze!

Check it out!
